Layla’s Journey at Trinity Children’s Centre

For Layla, Trinity Children’s Centre has been more than just a school.

Her nine-year journey has been filled with growth, friendship, kindness, learning and memories that she will carry with her long after she leaves Grade 7.

When Layla first arrived at Trinity in Grade RR, starting at a new school felt daunting. She remembers feeling sad and scared. But the care and encouragement of her teachers helped her feel safe and accepted—and, over time, helped shape the confident young woman she is today.

Throughout the years, Layla built meaningful relationships with teachers and staff members who supported her through both ordinary school days and more challenging moments.

One memory that stands out was when she fractured her foot in Grade 4. With her classroom upstairs, Miss Le Fleur carried her up the stairs and helped care for her injured foot. It was a simple act of kindness, but one that Layla has never forgotten.

She also remembers the many conversations, laughs and special moments shared with staff members who became important parts of her journey.

Today, Layla is described by her teacher as a positive role model—kind, compassionate, thoughtful and determined. She encourages others, offers help when it is needed and approaches her learning with independence and focus.

Her mother looks back on the past nine years with enormous gratitude and pride. From a shy little girl entering Grade RR to the confident young lady she is today, Layla’s journey reflects something we see so often at Trinity.

Education is about more than academic achievement.

It is about relationships. It is about encouragement. It is about discovering who you are, building confidence and learning to believe in what you can become.

As Layla prepares for the next chapter of her life, we are grateful to have been part of her story—and incredibly proud of the young woman she has become.
